- We are looking for an interior architect or an architect who will represent the fields of building construction, building theory and design in existing buildings in the Bachelor's and Master's programs of interior architecture within the Department of Building and Design in a scientifically sound and descriptive manner in teaching and research.
- In addition to conducting lectures, exercises and seminars with a focus on the fundamentals of building construction and building typology, this includes in particular supervising students in their design and project work, if necessary also within the framework of interdisciplinary projects.
- A cooperative personality is sought who, due to his/her own interior design/architectural work, has extensive experience in the field of building construction and design in existing buildings and is able to convey the methodological approach of the unity of construction, material and design concept in teaching. The integrative teaching approach is to be pursued especially in the teaching of the fundamentals of structural engineering within building construction theory.
- The person to be appointed should also be familiar with contemporary - especially digital - planning methods and tools and be able to integrate these into teaching.
We are looking for a personality with a degree in interior design or architecture and a particular aptitude for scientific work, usually scientific work, which as a rule is demonstrated by a qualified doctorate or doctorate-adequate achievements.
The subject areas are to be represented both in teaching and in applied research. We expect very good didactical skills as well as the willingness to participate in the exchange with our international partner universities and to offer courses in English. In addition, we expect committed participation in teaching basic subjects and possibly giving lectures in related subject areas.
We expect the applicant to integrate themselves well into the existing team both professionally and personally, to get involved in the academic self-administration of our university and to enjoy imparting knowledge from their own professional experience to the students.
The university has a large number of collaborations with universities and research institutions such as Max Planck Institutes and Fraunhofer Institutes as well as companies. Intensifying and expanding these collaborations is highly desired.
Active participation in the university’s research activities is desired. In this context, we strive to increase third-party funding and the number of cooperative doctorates.
We advocate a supervision concept that requires a high level of presence of the teaching staff at the university campus.
German language skills (at least level C1) and English language skills are required. Teaching language ist mainly German.
